Meet the 2008 Youth Showboard!
The youth showboard is made up of students who want to have the important role of making the production a success from behind the scenes. As with any theatrical production, Brillianteen will need showboard members with great leadership and organization skills, as well as great communication and "follow through" skills for ultimate results. Showboard members are not only responsible for their individual success, but also for helping with the success of everyone else.
Meet the Youth Showboard:
Jim Berry, Showboard manager, is a charismatic leader with a knack for every aspect of the show. He runs approximately 17.34 marathons a year and finishes each in under two hours, Kenyans you better watch out.
Nick Boyer, Crew Manager, is not ready for this job to start. He is the weak link in the partnership, but he tries to make up for his lacking biceps by bribing his partner, Claire West, with free Jamba Juice smoothies.
Claire West, Crew Manager is holding the crew group together with her 6’3 frame, bulging biceps and power quads. Claire benches 260 and is on the board for the Power Clean at ETHS and she is a powerhouse wrestler. Nick thanks her everyday for her hard work with Jamba Juice smoothies.
Torrie Davis, Secretary should never be allowed to dance. She danced previously at one of the Brillianteen meetings and all of you who weren’t there are very lucky you didn’t see her horrible electric slide. Judy Hughes was seen covering her eyes so she wouldn't see the horibble body movements.
Megan Vandehey, Stage Manager, may be 4’11’’ but don’t let her size fool you, she is raring to go and ready for Brillianteen. Unlike Jim, Megan hates to run or anything that includes physical activity. Megan prefers to sit on her couch watching the Bears trounce the Packers.
Gavin Runzel, Business Manager, is a Twizzler fiend. At any point you will see her snatching one of those red suckers from her purse, pocket, or more surprisingly, from her shoe. She has put on a little weight from this weird fetish, but she obviously doesn't care...she is eating one right now.
Cassie Valukas, Secretary does not know how to read and write, but don’t make fun of her too much. The school system has failed her and we cannot count that against her. The rest of the Youth Showboard is working very hard to make sure she can read by the time the show premieres. Wish them luck.
John Wagner, Sound Manager, loves peanuts. If you want to know what to get him for a “job-well-done” gift once the show has completed buy some Planter’s mixed nuts, those are his favorites. Even better, bake him a pecan pie…just so long as you give him an epi-pen.
Alex George, Lights Manager, is the star of the ETHS basketball team. You will see him everyday scampering to give the players water and pat their foreheads with a clean towel. He is very proud to be the water-boy and his achievements in the job have earned him three gold stars from the School Board.
Elle Lucadamo, Props Manager also known as the first lady for no specific reason, is secretly a go-go dancer. Don’t ask her about it because she will get embarrassed, but you can see her in Studio 54 any night of the week after she has finished her Stats homework.
Ellen Lebow, Costumes Manager is one tough cookie. After rehabbing from a torn ACL, which she received while playing beach volleyball, she broke her collarbone while working on her INTEL project. She has now begun to BMX bike and the whole Youth Showboard is very worried about what might happen next.
Rachel Sawa, Make-up Manager is the distant princess of the Janovia. She has lived in San Francisco her whole life, growing up as the ugly duckling, but once she learned she was a princess she went from frizzy to FOINE. She is now trying to find her prince.
Izzie Fulcher, Tickets Manager would now like to be referred to as Dizz. Dizz speaks in the third person. Dizz like. Dizz want. Dizz do.
Clare Austen-Smith, Showbook Manager has recently decided she is not going to go to college; she will instead join the green berets in the Congo. The Youth Showboard has told her this is a horrible idea and that she should read “The Things They Carried” before she makes a decision, but she wont hear it. After Brillianteen ends, she departs on her mission.
Amy Wheeler, Showbook Manager has decided to follow in Clare’s footsteps and join the green berets. The duo will bring their drawing skills to the Congo and wherever else they are sent. Amy has been quoted saying “I just want to be one with nature and bring out the hippie in me.”
Anna Kennedy, Publicity Manager just qualified for the Olympics in cheerleading competitions in Kuala Lumpur. She will be taking some time off of Brillianteen to meet with her squad and make sure their cheers are on point. She is extremely E-X-C-I-T-E-D.
Tyler Roveda, House Manager just won the Mr. Teen USA is Sarasota this past weekend. He wore a tight-fitting Speedo in the swimsuit competition, a red suede suit in the evening wear event, and performed Cher’s “Believe” in the talent portion. His mother was spotted crying in the second row.
Linnea Carlson, Photography Manager is the model in the group with very little time for Brillianteen. She loves being in front of the camera, with all eyes on her. She, just recently, had a photo shoot for K-Mart producing shots that will hopefully be pictured in the mass Christmas catalog.
